Short Story Content Blocker
Coming soonNo more Shorts, Reels or TikTok rabbit holes in Safari
You opened YouTube to watch one tutorial. Forty minutes later you come up from a Shorts spiral, wondering where the evening went. Short-form feeds are built to be hard to put down. Willpower is a terrible ad blocker.
Short Story removes the temptation at the source. In Safari, the Shorts shelf, the Reels tab and every short-form thumbnail simply aren’t there, and the page closes up around them. TikTok is short-form all the way down, so it gets a calm block screen with a button to take you back.
For the one Reel a friend sent you, there’s a pause. Pick 1, 5 or 10 minutes in the popup and hold the button for 3 seconds. Blocking comes back on by itself, so a quick look can’t quietly turn into an evening. Turning it off for longer means a trip into Safari settings.
Everything runs on your device. No accounts, no analytics, no network code at all, and the extension only runs on the four sites it works on. A quiet counter shows how many shorts it has blocked this week and in total. It works in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac, not inside the YouTube, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok apps.
